Frosting Ingredients

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter until it turns golden brown. Stir constantly.
  • Pour the browned butter into a bowl and let it cool until it thickens slightly.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and kosher salt.

Mixing Cake Batter

  • In the bowl with the cooled browned butter, add the light brown sugar and granulated sugar, mixing until fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, adding the whole milk in intervals to achieve a smooth batter.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for about 1 hour or until a tester inserted comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Making Frosting

  • Brown the remaining 1/2 cup of unsalted butter for the frosting, then mix it with confectioners' sugar, salt, heavy cream, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Once the cake has cooled completely, spread the creamy frosting generously over the top.

Notes

Serve with fresh berries or ice cream. Allow cake to cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
