Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 pieces ripe peaches Choose peaches that are slightly soft for best sweetness and flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Will melt to form the rich base for caramel.
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar Adds a deep, molasses flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon Brings warmth and depth.
  • a pinch salt Balances flavors.
  • to taste whipped cream or vanilla ice cream Optional serving suggestions.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Rinse the peaches under cool water, gently patting them dry. Cut each peach in half and discard the pit. Slice the peach halves into segments.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the unsalted butter and let it melt, swirling the pan occasionally.

Cooking

  • Once the butter has melted, add the brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir until blended.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high. Place the peach quarters cut side down in the skillet. Cook undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Gently turn the peaches onto the other cut side using tongs. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  • Lower the heat to medium-low and let the peaches simmer in the sauce for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and drizzle the caramel sauce over the peaches. Serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure peaches are ripe but firm to avoid mushiness. Cooking too high of a heat can burn sugar. Consider coconut oil for a lighter version and maple syrup as an alternative sweetener.
