Glaze

  • 1 cup canned or homemade cranberry sauce The heart of the glaze.
  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar Brightens flavors.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, crack the egg and beat it until frothy. Add in the finely chopped onion, Greek yogurt, thyme, sage, Worcestershire sauce, kosher salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Gently fold in the ground turkey and panko bread crumbs, being careful not to overmix.
  • Form tablespoon-sized balls and place on a plate or tray. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the cranberry sauce, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, mustard, orange zest, kosher salt, and black pepper for the glaze.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side.
  • Pour the glaze over the meatballs and let it bubble and thicken until the meatballs are fully cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Serve the meatballs over creamy mashed potatoes, allowing the glaze to soak in.

Notes

Chill the meatballs before cooking to help them hold their shape. Monitor the skillet temperature to avoid burning.
