For the steak

  • 1 pound sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips Juicy and tender.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Adds richness while cooking the steak.

For serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. If using, add diced onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
  • Stir in the rinsed basmati rice and toast for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add sweet paprika and ground cumin, cooking for 30 seconds.
  • Mix in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, and crumbled bouillon cube. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer for about 18-20 minutes until rice is cooked.

Cooking the Steak

  • Season steak strips with Montreal seasoning.
  • In a different skillet, melt unsalted butter over medium-high heat. Add steak and sear for 2-3 minutes per side.

Serving

  • After rice is cooked, let it rest for 5 minutes and fluff with a fork.
  • Serve the creamy rice in bowls, topped generously with steak strips, drizzled with queso sauce and garnish with cilantro.

Notes
