  • 1 teaspoon salt Brings balance to flavors.
  • 3/4 cup warm water Helps to activate the dough.

  • a little oil or butter for the pan Essential for cooking.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in warm water and olive oil.
  • Stir gently until it comes together, then knead for 2-3 minutes to form a soft ball.
  • Cover the dough with a damp towel and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  • After resting, divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, rolling each into a ball.
  • Roll each ball into a thin circle, roughly 6-8 inches in diameter.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a small amount of oil or butter.
  • Cook each flatbread for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown and puffed.
  • Once done, stack the flatbreads and cover them to keep warm while finishing the batch.

Notes

Use warm water for better dough consistency. Knead just enough to make a soft ball. Experiment with different herbs for unique flavors.
