  • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped Light and airy, whipped cream creates a fluffy filling that melts in your mouth.

For the ganache

  • 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips Melty chips lend an indulgent chocolate flavor synonymous with classic peppermint patties.
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream Used to create a gorgeous ganache, this cream plays a key role in uniting chocolate and dessert.

Instructions
 

Preparation of crust

  • In a food processor, pulse the Oreos and melted butter together until fine crumbs form.
  • Press the mixture firmly into a 9" pie plate to form a crust.
  • Place the crust in the refrigerator while preparing the filling.

Preparation of filling

  • In a large bowl, beat the sweetened condensed milk, softened cream cheese, and peppermint extract until smooth.
  • Gradually add in the whipped heavy cream, mixing until stiff peaks form.
  • Pour the filling into your Oreo crust, smoothing it out evenly.
  • Cover the pie and freeze for at least four hours.

Preparation of ganache

  • In a medium bowl, place the chocolate chips and set aside.
  • Heat the heavy cream until bubbles form around the edges, then pour over the chocolate chips.
  • Let sit for one minute, then whisk until silky and smooth.
  • Pour the ganache over the pie and return to the freezer for another 15 minutes.

Notes

To lighten the dessert, consider using reduced-fat cream cheese or coconut cream. For gluten-free, use gluten-free Oreos. Don't rush freezing; patience is key for a well-set pie.
