Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package (9 oz) cheese tortellini Tender and filled with creamy goodness
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Fragrant and flavorful
  • 1 pound lean ground beef Rich and satisfying
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Aromatic and zesty
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhancing flavors
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adding a bit of warmth
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) For a touch of heat
  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach leaves Vibrant and nutritious
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter Luscious and golden
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Nutty and rich
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley For a fresh pop of color
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water For moisture and depth of flavor

Instructions

Cooking the Tortellini

  • Begin by cooking the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.

Cooking the Beef

  • In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the lean ground beef, breaking it into small crumbles as it browns. Cook for about 5 minutes until nicely browned and cooked through.

Adding Garlic and Seasonings

  • Next, add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and, if desired, red pepper flakes to the pan. Stir well and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Sautéing Spinach

  • Reduce the heat to medium and stir in the fresh spinach leaves, sautéing until they wilt, approximately 2-3 minutes.

Combining Ingredients

  • Push the beef and spinach mixture to one side of the pan and add the unsalted butter to the cleared area, allowing it to melt and bubble gently.
  • Now, add the cooked tortellini and beef broth or water to the pan. Gently toss everything together, ensuring that the tortellini is well-coated and heated through, about 2 minutes.

Finishing Touches

  • Finally, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley over this delightful medley. Give it a good stir to combine all the flavors.

Serving

  • Serve hot and enjoy every delicious bite.

Notes

Tips for success include cooking the tortellini al dente and prepping all ingredients beforehand to speed up the cooking process.
