  • 2 cups canned green beans, drained offering a crisp contrast
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 ounces) creamy and smooth
  • 1/2 cup milk adds richness
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese melting topping
  • 1 teaspoon salt for seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper adding subtle kick
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce contributes tangy note
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking
  • 1 pack crispy fried onions (6 ounces) for topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the skillet, sauté for an additional 3 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up and cooking until it's browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, mixing well.
  • Gently fold in the drained green beans and 1/4 cup of crispy fried onions.
  • Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil, sprinkle the remaining crispy fried onions on top, and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Taste the mixture before adding it to the baking dish to adjust seasoning as needed. Allow to cool slightly after baking for easier serving.
