Cookie Base

  • 1 lb Pillsbury sugar cookie dough Creamy, rich, and full of buttery goodness.

Decorations

  • various nonpareils in holiday colors For decorating and adding a festive touch.

Cookie Topping

  • 1 box Pillsbury Shape cookie dough (9 oz) Fun and festive shaped cookies.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Unwrap the log of sugar cookie dough.
  • Slice the log into 16 (1/2 inch thick) pieces.
  • Gently roll each slice into balls.
  • Flatten the dough balls into disks about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Divide nonpareils by color among plates.
  • Roll each disk of dough in nonpareils until coated.
  • Transfer the coated cookies to 2 parchment-lined baking sheets.

Baking

  • Bake the cookies until they begin to spread, about 2 minutes.
  • Open the package of Pillsbury Shape cookie dough and break it apart.
  • Stack one Pillsbury Shape cookie on top of each sugar cookie.
  • Continue to bake until the edges are golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes more.
