Preparation

Line baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment paper.
If time allows, chill the lined baking sheets.
In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until smooth, about 3 minutes.
Mix in the egg, vanilla, and almond extracts until well combined.
Gradually blend in all-purpose flour and salt until fully incorporated.
Fit a cookie press with a decorative plate and fill it with the dough.
Press out cookies onto baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Chill the cookies again if necessary.
Baking
