  • 1 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes juicy and tangy.
  • 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce creamy and rich.
  • 1 cup chicken broth to infuse moisture and flavor.
  • 1 cup uncooked rice provides heartiness.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese for a gooey, melty topping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, pour the olive oil.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
  • Once browned, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the chopped bell peppers, salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil; cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and chicken broth; stir to combine.
  • Add the uncooked rice and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until rice is cooked.
  • Transfer to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake for 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving, garnished with parsley.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for enhanced flavor. Browning the meat properly adds richness. Adjust cheese for a cheesier dish.
