  • 8 sheets Nori Sheets These seaweed sheets form the base of the tacos.
  • 1 lb Ahi Tuna (Sashimi Grade) Use tender, premium fish for best texture.
  • 1 whole Avocado Provides creaminess; cut into slices.
  • 2 cups Cooked Sticky Rice Sticky rice will hold the ingredients together.
  • 1 whole Cucumber Slice into thin strips for crunch.

Frying and Sauces

  • 1 cup Tempura Batter Use as per package instructions.
  • 1/4 cup Eel Sauce For drizzling on assembled tacos.
  • 1/4 cup Spicy Mayo Adds a kick to the tacos.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Whisk together the tempura batter in a bowl according to package instructions until smooth.
  • Cut the nori sheets into taco-like shapes.

Frying Nori Shells

  • Heat oil in a pan until shimmering.
  • Dip each nori piece into the tempura batter, then gently place it into the hot oil. Fry each side for about 30 seconds until golden brown.

Preparing Filling

  • Mix diced ahi tuna with spicy mayo in a bowl.

Assembly

  • Fill fried nori shells with sticky rice, followed by spicy tuna mix, sliced avocado, and cucumber.
  • Drizzle eel sauce over the assembled tacos and serve immediately while crispy.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, swap the ahi tuna for marinated tofu. Rinse sticky rice well before cooking for the right texture. Serve with light drinks for contrast.
