Ingredients
  

For the Tuna Salad

  • 2 cans white albacore tuna in water, drained Opt for good quality for the best taste.
  • 2 stalks celery, finely minced About 1/4 cup.
  • 1 small shallot, minced Adds a touch of aromatic sweetness.
  • 1/3 cup full-fat Greek yogurt For a luscious texture.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Adds a slight tang.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt To enhance the flavors.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper For added warmth.
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped Provides a pop of color and fresh taste.

For the Sandwich

  • 8 slices multigrain bread or preferred sandwich bread Feel free to customize your choice of bread.
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese So melty and rich.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided For a golden-brown finish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, minced celery, shallot, Greek yogurt, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.

Assembly

  • Lay out the slices of bread. Top each slice with a generous layer of cheddar cheese, then add a scoop of the tuna salad to four slices.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Add 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter until melted and coats the bottom of the pan.
  • Place two of the assembled sandwiches in the skillet. Cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining sandwiches using the rest of the butter.

Serving

  • Plate the Tuna Melt Sandwiches while warm.

Notes

Consider adding avocado slices or pickles for an extra layer of flavor.
